Business Day

Year 6 Business Day was treated with the usual enthusiasm.  Companies were formed and plans were made to either sell a product or provide a service.

Joseph made lots of cup cakes to sell to customers who had their bikes washed.

J and D's Bike Wash "employed" some Year 5s' to help out.

The action figures proved very popular.

Ashleigh, Emma, Katie and Sarah worked really hard selling their Mocktails...

...their customers had a good selection to choose from.

A.L.A.K sold DVD's and computer games.

In E.S.M.'s boutique you could have your nails painted or your hair done.

You could also get your hair done in Dr. Ham's Photo Shoot, then get dressed  up and have a photo taken.

The VIP Disco was very popular both for dancing and buying refreshments.

The Movie Madness company showed trailers of films. Drinks and pop corn made it seem as if we really were at the cinema.

Everyone enjoyed Business Day and the companies made a fantastic profit of £459.62.  The money will be sent to different charities like "Help for Heroes", Cancer Research and E.A.C.H. Thank you to everyone who supported Business Day and well done Year 6!

Cricket

Today we are at Diss High School for a cricket tournament.  We have brought 8 teams, and there is one other team from Burston.  This means we have to play each other.  We have been learning new skills such as bowling, catching and batting.  Everyone is enjoying themselves, but everyone is determined to win!!!

Through the day, the improvement in all the teams was clear to see.  We had a great time, with the winning 2 teams qualifying for the partnership finals.  Well done to Ben and Teresa's teams!

Cookies

At the end of our Les Trois Alps Mountain topic we made some giant cookies to sell in our Mountain Cafe.  We were given a basic mixture and then added our own ingredients.  The packaging had to be made designed and constructed too.

Emma and Caitlin added marshmallows on the top.

Eloise and Emma opted for a chocolate flavour.

Our measuring had to be precise for the net to fit properly.

The finished product - ready to eat!
Yummy!

Dissecting Flowers in Science

The 6/5 classes have been looking at flowers in science.  First we drew observational pictures, then we dissected the flowers and found out the names of each part.

Look at the concentration!
